Seoul, South Korea At Global Nano Network (GNN), we are honoured to have participated in the Innovate UK Global Business Innovation Programme focused on Battery Technology. The mission included valuable networking sessions and the Interbattery Show in Gangnam.

This opportunity allowed us to engage with leading market players in South Korea, a global leader in battery technology. We discussed GNN’s HyperFoil® with major companies such as SK ON, Kumyang, and Samsung.

Our week began with an informative briefing at the British Embassy in Seoul on the South Korean battery market from Yu-Tack Kim and insights from KATEP and KIAT on bilateral funding opportunities. We also visited the Korea Institute of Machinery and Metals (KIMM) in Daejeon and the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology, exploring the sustainable potential of seawater batteries for low-impact static energy storage.

The InterBattery Show, one of the world’s largest battery exhibitions, provided comprehensive insights into the entire ecosystem and supply chain.

We left South Korea with a deeper understanding of the local market and its success drivers. We continue to engage with our new contacts, believing that collaboration and partnership are key to creating a sustainable, eco-friendly battery ecosystem.
